AAA Colorado breaks ground on new Colorado Springs facility
Denver, July 22 – AAA Colorado broke ground yesterday for its Colorado Springs location of Pacesetter Roadside Assistance. Linda Cavanagh, Chief Operating Officer of AAA Colorado and Bob Cook, Vice President, were joined by members of AAA Colorado’s Board of Directors and Colorado Springs dignitaries to begin construction of the new facility.
The 15,000 square foot building (garage, warehouse and office) will be located at 7371 Cole View in Colorado Springs. The facility will house twenty towing and light service vehicles and will enhance AAA roadside service in Colorado Springs and southern Colorado. When the facility opens early in 2016, Pacesetter Roadside Assistance will add fifteen jobs in the Colorado Springs region.
Mahler GC of Colorado Springs will serve as the general contractor. Mahler’s past clients have included the Highland Commercial Group, Palmer McAllister, the Citadel Mall, Chapel Hills Mall and many other commercial clients including the City of Colorado Springs. Grey Wolf Architecture of Denver designed the Pacesetter building. Patrick J. Danehy is providing construction management services.
About Pacesetter Roadside Assistance
Pacesetter Roadside Assistance is a wholly-owned subsidiary of AAA Colorado providing basic mechanical assistance and diagnosis, tire changes, lock-outs, fuel delivery, battery and electrical system diagnostics, towing and winch-out services for AAA members.
The addition of a Pacesetter facility in Colorado Springs is part of a goal to increase the number of roadside service calls that can be responded to with an on-the-go solution. “At AAA Colorado, we call a service where we are able to get you on your way without a tow an ‘on-the-go’ solution,” says Bob Cook, Vice President of Automotive Services. “While we have always had some level of on-the-go solutions for things such as jumpstarts, fuel delivery and tire changes, we have focused on increasing the percentage of all calls that are resolved in this category. After all, getting help to you quickly is nice, but what our members want is to get back on the road.”
