Recycle your old car batteries
In support of Earth Day, AAA Colorado is sponsoring its annual battery recycling campaign from April 17–22, 2017.
A typical car battery contains 21 pounds of lead, plastic and sulfuric acid. Nearly all (97%) of the materials in a car battery can be recycled and reused in new batteries, but improper disposal puts these toxic substances into landfills and groundwater instead. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency says car batteries are the most commonly recycled product in the world. Don’t miss your chance to join others in protecting the planet.
Used automobile batteries will be accepted at the following locations. Denver metro area residents can schedule a battery pick-up from your home or business weekdays by calling 303-753-8800, ext. 8273, or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
